The proposed multiplex at 58 Jones Avenue will be owned and operated by Circle Community LandTrust, supporting its mission to protect and enhance affordable homes while expanding access to stable, sustainable housing across Toronto.
Developed in collaboration with Bicycle Properties, the project combines Circle’s community-focused stewardship with Bicycle Properties’ experience designing and delivering thoughtful infill and missing-middle rental housing.
By adding well-designed homes on an established residential lot, the proposal builds on a neighbourhood that already accommodates a diverse mix of housing types and gentle density, creating more opportunities for people to remain connected to the community they call home.
58 Jones Ave: About the Project.
The proposal for 58 Jones replaces the existing vacant two-storey dwelling with a four-storey, purpose-built affordable rental building containing seven apartments, together with a separate two-storey laneway rental suite at the rear. The main building is approximately 13.6 metres (44.6 ft) high, with a building depth of 23.6 metres (77.5 ft) and approximately 515 m² (5,542 sq. ft.) of gross floor area.
The project provides a diverse mix of homes: four one-bedroom apartments and three three-bedroom apartments in the main building, plus a four-bedroom laneway suite, for a total of eight purpose-built rental homes. The larger three- and four-bedroom homes provide family-sized housing within the project. The plans also provide 12 secure bicycle parking spaces and one accessible vehicle parking space at the rear of the property.
